Happy Sunday! I am excited to introduce you to another one of my therapists. She is friggin awesome.
I met Confessions of a Cookbook Queen over a Twinkie and life has never been the same.
I can't even recall how I found her blog in the first place but after the very first glimpse of her "Minion Cupcakes" life has never been quite the same.
Are you serious!!!! How cute! I was instantly hooked. Click here to read her blog post with this insanely cool idea: Minion Cupcakes!
Her writing is awesome too - she seems so down to earth. The kinda gal you would go to Applebees with and have a beer. I like that.
So after seeing this form of cupcake genius, I immediately thought of what I could do with a Twinkie and was inspired to make these:
What can I say...cake decorating is a drug for me. People always say...do what ya know!! Working in the medical field is often high stress and cake decorating has been such a great release for me.
Plus cupcakes have less side effects....RIGHT?
I simply covered the twinkies in colored fondant. It was wicked easy. I used the Wilton alphabet mini cutters for the letters. I really love having those cutters!
I did use a toothpick behind the medication bottle to keep it propped up.
Since I was making these after the inspiration from Confessions of a Cookbook Queen I decided to pay her a little homage....cupcake style.
I must say, I am a fan of the mixed media cupcake topper. And Twinkies. And Confessions of a Cookbook Queen.
I bought a GREAT Cookbook, 101 Gourmet Cupcakes and a set of Americolor Markers from her web store as a thanks to her and to my fellow cupcake lovers!
You KNOW you have been wanting to try these awesome food writers!!
Just leave a comment and tell me what you love about cupcakes! I will keep this giveaway open until Thursday and use random.org to choose a comment as winner.
Well...I hope you enjoyed my life in cupcakes today.
I hope YOU have a CALM week. :)
